The Opportunity
As a Volunteer Teacher Training Advisor, you will have the chance to make a lasting impact on teacher training and the education sector in Ghana. Your contributions will reach hundreds of teachers, and through them, potentially impact the education of countless children. Our aim is to equip young Ghanaians with skills like problem-solving, independent thinking, teamwork, and collaboration. Your role will help shape the minds of future generations in a rapidly developing country.
The Role
In this voluntary position, you will bring your experience as a UK-trained teacher to bear, contributing your expertise and insights to the creation of teacher training materials for educators in Ghana. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Sharing your personal experiences of teacher training in the UK and the effective methodologies or strategies that guided you through your teaching career.
- Reviewing, contributing to, and validating the training materials we produce.
- Assisting in the development of innovative teaching strategies focused on problem-solving, independent thinking, teamwork, collaboration, and other relevant skills such as critical thinking and creativity.
This role offers flexible involvement, with the freedom to contribute on an ad hoc basis around your schedule. All work can be conducted remotely, making it an ideal opportunity to make a meaningful difference from the comfort of your own home.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a candidate who believes fervently in the transformative power of education. Your commitment to nurturing young minds and passion for teaching methodologies will be the driving force behind your contributions. Previous experience as a trained teacher in the UK is essential, alongside a keen interest in sharing your insights and helping shape teaching practices abroad. If you have direct experience in training other teachers this would be a bonus.
